World Drowning Prevention Day was established through the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on Global Drowning Prevention and is observed annually on July 25.

This day serves as an opportunity to recognize the profound impact drowning has on families and communities around the world while promoting life-saving solutions to prevent these tragedies.

An estimated 236,000 people lose their lives to drowning each year, and drowning remains one of the top ten leading causes of death among children ages 5–14 worldwide. Children and adolescents in underserved communities are disproportionately affected, highlighting the importance of equitable access to water safety education and resources.

At Float2Fly, we believe that drowning prevention begins with awareness, education, and access. By teaching water safety skills, promoting active supervision, and expanding access to lifesaving resources, we can work together to create safer communities around water.

Together, we can help prevent drowning and save lives.
