August 30 is National Beach Day!

A day at the beach is a great way to enjoy the water with family and friends, but ocean conditions can change quickly. Before heading into the water, take a few simple steps to help keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

Beach Safety Tips:

  • Swim near a lifeguard. Choose a swimming area where a lifeguard is present.
  • Know the warning flags. Check posted beach flags and signs before entering the water.
  • Know what to do in a rip current. Stay calm and do not try to swim directly against the current. Float or swim parallel to shore until you are free from the current, then make your way toward the beach.
  • Check conditions before you go. Weather, waves, currents, and other water conditions can change throughout the day.
  • Keep children within reach. Stay attentive and avoid distractions whenever children are in or around the water.

This National Beach Day, enjoy the sand, sunshine, and water while making water safety part of the celebration.

At Float2Fly, we believe water safety starts with awareness, education, and access.

Celebrate the beach. Stay water safe.
